He had to have always been, else he'd have not made it this far in life. Being in the city made it that much more difficult to hide who he was, but he made due.
Certainly, his body cramped from the inability to shift back into his fox form as often, but he knew he was close finding some of those responsible for his parents. In truth, it would be the only reason he'd ever be caught dead in a city like São Paulo. Sure, it was gorgeous and the people were nice enough and the food was delicious, but anywhere that wasn't surrounded by expansive amounts of land and places he could easily tuck himself away was a place he didn't particularly enjoy finding himself in.
But he sucked it up, as he always would whenever it came to finding answers regarding his parents. And Huojin knew he would until his dying breath.
Still, he needed to find somewhere to hide away, just to let his tail out for the briefest of moments. It wasn't like he had a place of his own to do so, anyway. Ever since he'd arrived, he'd almost nightly found someone to take him home so he had somewhere to stay and fed off of the person's essence, just enough to keep him satiated and without harm to them... unless they tried to harm him first, of course.
And so, when he found an alley, he ducked in and all the way to the back where he could keep an eye out easily but still be relatively hidden away.
Huojin let out a long, low sigh of relief, allowing his eyelids to flutter shut just for a second as he relaxed for the first time in what must have been weeks. He kept his back to the wall and leaned his head back against it as he all but melted at the feeling of freedom, relishing in it for the short time he allowed himself.
As reluctant as he was, he fully shifted back into his humanoid form and pushed himself off the wall, making his way back to the street.
idk what i'm doing. this is shit and i know it is, just pretend it's good. XD
